Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the recent years, many tourists are promoting an eco-tourists approach in which travelling is getting more eco-friendly and tourist are taking it as an responsibility due to fastly increasing in the environmental concerns. Therefore, there are rise in an eco-tourism industry. I believe, that it is a balanced approach it is beneficial for the humans, environment and for economies but it can be negative for other industries.
On the one hand, eco-tourism is very important for the environment if this industry is expanding it could be beneficial for the society. Because of an environmental issues tourists prefered to travel responsibly by choosing best alternatives which can support an environment it not only helps in the recovery of over environment and ecosystem it can also helps in the recovery of ozone layer which is very badly affected by the human activities specially by the tourists. Secondly, it can create jobs for the people and boost the economy of various countries because an eco-tourism is a concept which is getting appreciation across the globe. For instance in western world an eco-tourism departments are inaugurated which creates jobs for the citizens.
On the other hand, with the widespread of eco-tourism departments many industries are facing challanges. Because many tourist purchase items while making sure that the item is an environment friendly. Along with that demand of an eco-friendly things are getting rises which pose threat to products which are not sustainable. For instance, shift to an eco-friendly approaches pressurize the retailers to sell those products which can be recycleable or can be reuseable. The paper industry is getting promoted while, the plastic industry is facing huge backlash.
To conclude, with rising demand for eco-friendly tourism many tourist are getting more conscious about environmental concerns and promoting those items which are sustainable. i believe it have benefit related to environment and society but it may be harmful for other industries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position on whether the growth of eco-tourism is a positive trend. The writer acknowledges both sides of the issue, arguing that it benefits the environment and economy while negatively impacting unsustainable industries. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, the point about boosting the economy and creating jobs is rather superficial, supported only by a vague mention that 'in western world an eco-tourism departments are inaugurated'. Similarly, the negative impact on other industries is introduced with general statements like 'many industries are facing challanges' rather than fully explored, extended arguments. This level of development aligns with a response that covers all parts of the task while leaving certain areas somewhat under-developed or supported by limited evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving logically from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing the pros and cons, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices are used to signal relationships between ideas, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, and referencing is not always completely clear. For instance, transitional phrases are sometimes overused or awkwardly placed, and sentences within paragraphs occasionally lack smooth progression, as seen in the slightly disjointed flow of the conclusion. To reach the next level, the writer needs to ensure that cohesive devices connect ideas more naturally and that logical progression between sentences is consistently maintained without awkward transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items related to the topic, such as 'eco-tourism', 'ecosystem', 'ozone layer', 'sustainable', and 'recycleable'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that reflect a limited and sometimes insecure grasp of lexical control. Examples include 'eco-tourists approach', 'fastly increasing' instead of rapidly increasing, 'an responsibility', 'challanges', 'environment friendly' used as a noun modifier, and 'reuseable'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they recur frequently enough to prevent the response from achieving a higher band. More careful precision in word forms and collocations is needed to elevate the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as subordinate clauses and conditional constructions. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Issues include problems with articles ('an eco-tourism industry', 'over environment'), subject-verb agreement ('tourist are', 'an eco-tourism departments are'), prepositional usage, and tense consistency ('In the recent years'). Furthermore, run-on sentences and punctuation slips occur, such as comma splices in the introduction ('I believe, that it is a balanced approach it is beneficial...'). These errors reflect a limited control over complex grammar patterns, meaning that while communication is generally achieved, the presence of frequent mistakes keeps the score at this specific level.
