Student answer (Band 5.5)
Concern for the environment is expanging rapidly and individuals are frequently choosing to be eco-tourists, choosing a more responsible, environmentally-friendly ways. As a consequence, the travelling industry is expanding. I firmly agree with this positive point of view as it can minimize the negative impact of travelling on the environment and increase more opportunities for the eco-tourism industries. This trend leads to minimize the greenhouse gases and drop the temperature of earth as well.
On the one hand, this trend is expanding throughout communities who look after the clearance of the air and the environment because as much as people reduce the frequency of using vehicles which have a negative impact on the climate change, the concern of global warning will decrease. There are some outstanding alternative ways which are environmetally friendly and then have almost no effect on the climate change. For instance, using some public transport such as trains instead of aircraft can have a dramaticpositive development on the environment. Thus, using environmentally friendly ways can maintain the air clean and give a chance to eco-tourism industries to expand finantially.
On the other hand, due to the negative impact of using other ways on the environmet such as releasing greenhouse gases which can impacts the climate change tremendously. Additionally, the artificial clouds that are made through planes, can increase the temerature on the earth by making a very thick layer in the sky. As a result, the earth´s temperature can not penetrate these layers and remain close to the earth.
In conclusion, the number of eco-friendly people is increase dramatically and they prefer using more responsible ways for travelling. I consider this trend is positive because it can lead to some powerful results such as minimize the concers of global warming and climate change.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you firmly support the trend, and you give relevant reasons concerning emissions, climate change and the growth of eco-tourism. The example of choosing trains instead of aircraft helps make one point concrete. However, the discussion is uneven. The first body paragraph explains the environmental benefit, while the second mainly describes the harm caused by planes rather than developing a distinct benefit of eco-tourism or weighing its effects. The claim that the trend can “drop the temperature of earth” is also asserted without explaining how this would happen. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clear explanation and a specific example, and ensure the body paragraphs consistently support your stated position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to identify. However, progression within the argument is not always clear: the second body paragraph introduces the negative effects of other travel methods but does not clearly connect them to why the expansion of eco-tourism is positive. Some links are mechanical, and phrases such as “As a result” do not always show a precise cause-and-effect relationship. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph’s main point explicit, using pronouns and transitions with clear references, and arranging supporting explanations in a more direct sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “environmentally-friendly,” “greenhouse gases,” “climate change” and “global warming,” so the subject is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “dramatic positive development.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions. “Concern of global warning” appears to mean concern about global warming, while “clearance of the air” is not a natural way to describe cleaner air. Spelling errors such as “expanging,” “environmetally” and “finantially” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable set of topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your ideas easier to understand and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “which,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “a more responsible, environmentally-friendly ways” has a mismatch between the article and plural noun, and “the number of eco-friendly people is increase” uses an incorrect verb form. In “greenhouse gases which can impacts,” the modal should be followed by the base form of the verb. There are also awkward or incomplete constructions, including “I consider this trend is positive.” Practise agreement, verb forms after modals, and sentence patterns for stating opinions, then proofread each sentence for a complete and accurate structure.
