Student answer (Band 6.0)
Environmental pollution and changes in climate are major concerns all over the world and with this rapidly growing concern individuals are opting to be 'eco-tourists'. I largerly believe this a positive development as it would lead to a pollution free environment.
To begin with, as the world is advancing more and more people travel across the world probably due to influence of social media. This raise a concern for the host countries because when travellers arrive massively they might pollute the tourist attractions; causing trouble to the local residents. An evident example of this issue could be seen in Barcelona, Paris and London where tourists visit every year and adds to the air and noise pollution.Let's think about this issue as someone visits our home and leave it spreading garbage. Would we welcome such person again?
To tackle this issue, an initiative of eco-tourism has been taken according to which tourists show a responsible attitude and take the environmental safety into consideration. Many tourists involve themselves in volunteer work to clean a tourist point and dispose trash properly into the designated bins. For instance In Pakistan, a volunteer campaign was started to clean Karachi Beach in which all the tourists and GENZ actively participated. Being responsible tourists, they also guide other visitors not to pollute their sorrundings and respect the local culture and traditions. Furthermore, traverls buy food from local food points which helps residents of that country and also boosts the economy. Eco-tourism teaches individuals to respect cultural diversity and adapt to the changing environment. When tourists show a positive attitude both the government and local residents welcome them.
In conclusion, I strongly believe eco-tourism is a positive trend and no matter which part of the Earth we visit; it is our ultimate reposbility to keep our environment pollution free to ensure health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I largely believe this [is] a positive development”—and is maintained in the conclusion. You address environmental responsibility with relevant points about litter, pollution, local culture and economic benefits, and the Karachi beach campaign gives the discussion a concrete example. This meets the task well overall. However, the argument is not equally developed throughout: the opening focuses on the problems caused by mass tourism, while the benefits of eco-tourism are asserted more than explained. The claim that it would lead to a “pollution free environment” is also too absolute. To strengthen the response, explain how responsible travel reduces harm and develop one or two benefits with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: it introduces the issue, contrasts harmful mass tourism with responsible practices, and ends with a clear conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “To tackle this issue,” and “Furthermore” help signal the progression. The main weakness is that some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, the rhetorical question about someone leaving garbage in your home interrupts the formal argument, and the shift from environmental responsibility to buying local food could be linked more explicitly to the central claim. Some sentences also contain several ideas, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports; this would make the organisation more consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “eco-tourism,” “environmental safety,” “volunteer work,” “local culture,” and “cultural diversity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “largerly,” “sorrundings,” “traverls,” and “reposbility.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “pollution free environment,” “clean a tourist point,” and “food points.” Repetition of “tourists” and “pollute” limits flexibility. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise phrases such as “reduce environmental damage” and “local businesses” would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “when travellers arrive massively they might pollute” and a relative clause in “according to which tourists show a responsible attitude.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include the missing verb in “I largely believe this [is] a positive development,” the agreement error in “This raise a concern,” and “tourists visit every year and adds.” There are also article and sentence-boundary problems, as in “An evident example … could be seen” followed by a run-on transition into “Let’s think.” Work on subject–verb agreement, complete sentence structures, and punctuation between clauses. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied sentence attempts more effective.
