Student answer (Band 5.0)

As the world is progressing rapidly and the industries are changing. If we teleport a few hundred years ago, we would never thought that tourism would be a multi-dollar industry and as the tourism industry grow, their other problems were created which a more evolve industry and we can call the eco-tourism as form of tourism which was subjected to evolution.Firstly we can differentiate between tourism and eco-tourism because the overview can be taken from topic. In the topic, we can see that the eco-tourism means travelling in a mmaner which does not harm environment of theat tourism positions. We can say that you visited a trail and it is at remote position and especially there is no waste management system. If you bought some non-biodegradable stuff on that trail and you had responsiblity to bring it back from you trip.if you throw it there you are destroying the ecosystem of that place.

I think this is a positive trend as this way the enviroment will not be destroyed by visitors and it will remain in its genuine form.In past as tourism was reaching its peak the visitors did not care for the site and they just throw away things in those regions which destroys their beaty and ultimately this reduce the beauty. The result of this was that the visitors at that spots were fall drastically and the locals faces losses.

I can you example from my country as my country Pakistan is famous for nothern region. There is these two spots in north of Pakistan;Naran and Shogran.Naran is relatively futher way from second one but as public traffic can only move toward Naran therefore it become packed with Hotels and other buildings that it completly destroys its natural beaty as campare to Shogran because its roads are for jeeps.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider eco-tourism a positive trend because it can protect natural environments and preserve their appeal to visitors. The example of litter on a remote trail helps explain the responsibility involved, while the comparison between Naran and Shogran gives the response a relevant local illustration. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The Naran example mainly describes the effects of unrestricted development, and the link to how eco-tourism would prevent or reduce those effects could be made more explicit. The response also focuses almost entirely on environmental and tourism impacts; explaining another consequence, such as benefits for local communities, would make the answer more complete and better supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the topic, gives a reason for supporting eco-tourism, and then presents a Pakistan-based example. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The opening moves from tourism’s growth to a definition and then to a trail example without clear links, and the final paragraph ends with the comparison rather than explaining its significance for your position. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “This illustrates why…” could clarify these relationships. Some sentences are joined together with commas or full stops in ways that interrupt the flow, and references such as “the second one” are not fully clear. Organising each paragraph around one main point would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourism,” “non-biodegradable,” “ecosystem,” and “natural beauty,” and these terms help communicate your main ideas. There is also an attempt to use more specific language when describing remote trails and tourism development. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “multi-dollar industry,” “tourism positions,” and “public traffic” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “enviroment,” “responsiblity,” and “completly” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate phrases for environmental protection and tourism impacts, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example about what happens if visitors leave non-biodegradable waste behind. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “we would never thought” instead of “we would never have thought,” “the tourism industry grow,” and “the locals faces losses.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening joins separate sentences without a space, while several long sentences run together. Practise accurate past and present verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and sentence punctuation. Shorter, complete sentences would help you express the argument clearly while you build control of more complex forms.
