Student answer (Band 6.0)

Eco-tourism is a great way to aware people of visiting natural places with responsibility and without any harm to the natural reserves and organisim to that specific area. It conserves the environment, respect the culture and locals of the area, educates travelers while directing financial benifits to local communities.

There are alot of positive results we can see as an eco-tourist but the main impactful changes includes are environmental protection, community empowerment, cultural respect and understanding of fragile and natural ecosystem.

Tourism revenue helps that area to develop and funds natural parks and reserves. It is also useful for habitat restoration and grows rural job market without losing the money to the mass market corporations. Tourists can see local traditions and explore different cultures in living reality rather than commercial performances which helps to save the local civillization instead of urbanizing them that makes them unsecure and extinct. It is an ethical route because local people support tourism and build good relation with government without any pressure and losing there identity.

For example, Costa Rica is a global model for ecotourism. The country turned its focus toward protecting its rich biodiversity by converting a massive portion of its land into national parks and private reserves. Ecotourism revenue funds extensive reforestation projects, supports local communities through eco-lodges and community-led tours, and lets visitors experience nature without harming fragile habitats. As a result the natural reserves of that country become more secure and the wild life there can be emerged. Therefore, it is expanding because of the mutualism between nature and people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your response clearly presents a positive view of eco-tourism and gives relevant reasons, including environmental protection, local employment, cultural preservation and funding for reserves. The Costa Rica example adds useful support and shows how revenue can benefit both nature and communities. This covers the task well, but the extent of your view could be stated more explicitly and consistently: a direct position such as “I consider this an overwhelmingly positive trend, provided it is managed responsibly” would sharpen the argument. Some points are asserted rather than explained, particularly the claim that tourism helps local people build relations with government. The final paragraph also introduces “mutualism” without fully explaining the idea. Developing these points and adding a brief qualification about possible risks would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining benefits, and a Costa Rica example. The ideas are generally relevant and the example follows naturally from the discussion of conservation and local income. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are packed together, and the opening list of benefits is repeated in the next paragraph. Connections such as “It is also useful” and “Therefore” are present, but some links are broad or do not clearly show how one point leads to the next. The conclusion is not clearly separated, and the final sentence does not fully summarise your position. Organise each body paragraph around one main benefit, explain it, and then connect the example or consequence explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “habitat restoration,” “biodiversity,” “reforestation projects,” and “fragile habitats.” These terms help make the discussion specific. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes interrupt the reader, for example “organisim,” “benifits,” “civillization,” and “wild life.” Some combinations are also unnatural or imprecise: “aware people of visiting” and “the main impactful changes includes are” do not express the intended meaning clearly, while “the wild life there can be emerged” is difficult to interpret. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague phrases with precise expressions—for instance, describing how tourism “raises visitors’ awareness” or “supports local livelihoods”—would improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses explaining how tourism revenue supports parks and communities. The main ideas are usually recoverable, but some sentence structures and agreement patterns are faulty. For example, “the main impactful changes includes are” has an incorrect verb construction, and “Tourists can see … which helps to save” leaves the reference of “which” unclear. In “the natural reserves … become more secure,” the tense does not fit smoothly with the surrounding account of results. There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, such as “without any harm to the natural reserves and organisim.” Work on building complex sentences around one clear main clause, checking subject–verb agreement and tense consistency, and using punctuation to separate complete ideas.
