Student answer (Band 4.0)
Eco-tourism is expanding to conserve the environment. It is a positive trend because it promotes environment friendly ways of travelling.
I have not much information related to this topic because it is a new trend and I have heard about it to little extent. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You give a clear, relevant position in the opening: eco-tourism is a positive trend because it encourages environmentally friendly travel. The example of KPK launching a project to preserve nature also relates to the topic. However, the response does not develop the reasons or explain the benefits in enough detail, and it offers no contrasting consideration or further supporting example. The statement that you have little information does not answer the question and weakens the argument. The response is 79 words, below the required 250, so the task is addressed only minimally. To improve, explain how responsible travel protects habitats or supports local communities, then illustrate each point with a specific example and maintain your position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic progression: it states a view, then introduces a local example and briefly describes eco-tourism. The opening sentence also gives the reader a clear indication of your position. However, the ideas are not developed into a connected argument, and the final details about consuming less energy and camping are left without explanation. The paragraph break does not create a clear structure for the different parts of the answer. Linking expressions such as “For example,” and “As a result” could help show how evidence supports your view, but the main improvement is to organise the response into an introduction, developed body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourism,” “preserve the nature,” “responsible,” and “consume less energy.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is narrow, with repeated use of “environment” and “eco-tourism,” and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “environment friendly ways,” “heard a news,” and “roote camping.” Spelling errors such as “Recenty” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for discussing conservation, wildlife, local communities, and sustainable travel, and check common collocations. This would help you express the benefits more clearly and avoid relying on a few repeated words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most of your sentences are short and simple, and their basic meaning is generally clear. You also attempt a reason clause with “because,” showing some ability to connect ideas. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors appear in basic grammatical patterns. For example, “I have not much information” needs a more natural quantifier structure, while “I heard a news” has an article and noun-form problem. In “tourists travel in a responsible, environment friendly ways,” the adjective and plural structure do not agree. Practise accurate articles, quantifiers, and adjective–noun agreement, then add controlled complex sentences to explain causes and results.
