Student answer (Band 5.5)
Eco-tourism is when a tourist visit an environment and during his stay ,does not try to impact it negatively. Many people choose to be eco-tourist because they give more importance to the environment by trying to protect it , travelling in a responsible and in an environmentally-friendly way. As a result , recording more eco-tourist in the industry. In my opinion ,I strongly agree that it is of very high importance and worthy ,hence increasing positively.
A person affecting the environment positively by planting trees (afforestation) where ever he goes will lead a decrease in the earth's global temperature ( global warming ). For instance when I was in my country ,I promise my self to plant a tree every one month to encourage the new generation .
Furthermore , a good eco-tourist will avoid throwing gabages such as bottles, plastics in the environment .Instead ,he can decide to recycle bottles and throw other gabages in trash bins. This will avoid water and air pollution in the society. A good example is when I was going for erasmus exchange program ,students recycling bottles in supermarkets and travelling by bus instead of using airplanes were having more money in terms of grants . This was done to encourage the young generation to keep the environment clean and sustainable .
To conclude ,from my little experience I strongly agree that there are more ec-tourists

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that eco-tourism is positive and provide relevant reasons, including tree planting and reducing waste. The personal examples about planting a tree and students recycling or using buses help connect the discussion to real situations. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the benefits are asserted more than explained, and the final sentence, “there are more ec-tourists,” does not clearly restate why the trend is positive. The opening also contains an unclear claim about “recording more eco-tourist in the industry.” Develop each reason by explaining its wider effect, and make your conclusion directly answer “to what extent.” The response is also below the required 250 words, so there is limited space to develop the ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This makes the main points reasonably easy to locate. However, progression is uneven because the introduction’s final idea is unclear and the conclusion is incomplete, so the essay does not finish with a clear summary of its argument. Some links between examples and claims also need to be made explicit; for instance, explain how the grant arrangement relates to environmentally responsible travel. Connectors such as “For instance” and “To conclude” are useful, but cohesion relies on a small set of familiar signals. Use clearer topic sentences and refer back to the central question as each paragraph develops.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “environmentally-friendly,” “global warming,” “recycle,” “pollution,” and “sustainable.” These terms show awareness of the subject and allow the reader to understand your main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “recording more eco-tourist,” “gabages,” and “ec-tourists.” Phrases such as “a good eco-tourist” are also repeated rather than varied. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling and collocation carefully. For example, describe the industry as “attracting more eco-tourists” and refer to “waste” or “rubbish” rather than repeating the misspelled “gabages.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including a relative clause in “A person affecting the environment positively … will lead…” and a conditional-style explanation of recycling. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “a tourist visit,” “As a result, recording more eco-tourist,” and “will lead a decrease,” where verb forms or sentence structure are incomplete or inaccurate. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation spacing, as in “a environment” and “a person … will lead.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and articles before adding complex clauses.
