Student answer (Band 6.0)
Eco-tourism is a term often used to describe the tourists who travel in environment-friendly ways. Due to the rising concern for the environment, it is noticed that visitors from all over the world are responsible nowadays. This results in increasing eco-tourism sector. I largely agree to this and believe that this can have positive impacts on the environment and the local neighbourhood.
Firstly, as everyone knows that cleanliness is one of the factors that plays an important role in preserving a tourist destination. It is often seen that travellers are inconsiderate and observed littering in such areas. This causes a negative impression and an embarrasment for the host country. Managing Authorities have started taking an action on this. For instance, IWMB - an organization managing the wildelife of Margalla Hills, located in Islamabad, do not allow anyone to bring food items with them on a hike to trails. Consequently, there has been a mass reduction in garbage on the hills.
Secondly, due to the diversity amongst the visitors, their cultural norms are different to the locals. Hence, this can sometimes invade the privacy of local people. Places that have been preserved as historical sites face this issue a lot such as Saidpur Village, a place located in Islamabad, which has been restored and kept as a museum. Local citizens are still living there and find it troubling that their privacy is being invaded due to the constant visits. Foreigners have taken care of this issue and they ensure that they are respectful with their activites when they visit.
In conclusion, eco-tourism industry has seen a hike due to the mass majority of travellers being responsible with their visits. I strongly agree that this has been a positive development and can lead to a better social culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you “largely agree” and conclude that eco-tourism is a positive development. You also give relevant examples, including reduced litter on Margalla Hills and residents’ privacy in Saidpur Village. These details help connect the topic to environmental and community effects. However, the response does not fully explain how the examples demonstrate that eco-tourism itself is expanding or consistently responsible. The first body paragraph shifts from eco-tourists to authorities restricting food, while the second suggests visitors respect residents without showing how this is linked to eco-tourism. Develop the reasoning more explicitly and explain the benefits and any limitations of the trend, so that each main idea is fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and each body paragraph focuses on a distinct issue. Some connections between claims are less clear, however. For example, the move from different cultural norms to privacy being invaded needs a more explicit explanation, and “Foreigners have taken care of this issue” does not clearly identify which visitors or actions are meant. The introduction also moves quickly from rising environmental concern to the claim that visitors are responsible. Use referencing that clearly identifies people and ideas, and build smoother links between each example and the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “preserving a tourist destination,” “historical sites,” “privacy” and “environment-friendly.” These choices make the subject clear, and the examples are generally understandable. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “agree to this,” “an embarrassment for the host country,” “a mass reduction,” and “a hike” for an increase. There are also spelling errors in “embarrasment,” “wildelife” and “activites.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and control. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; choosing accurate collocations will make your argument sound clearer and more assured.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which,” “that” and “due to,” and most of your meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist. For example, “as everyone knows that” has an unnecessary “that,” and “IWMB … do not allow” has a subject–verb agreement problem because the organisation is singular. In “travellers are inconsiderate and observed littering,” the verb forms are not parallel. Articles and sentence patterns also need attention in “taking an action” and “find it troubling that their privacy is being invaded due to the constant visits.” Review agreement, parallel structures and article use, then proofread complex sentences to improve accuracy without avoiding them.
