Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is irrefutable that more and more people are concerned for the environment and, as a result the number of eco-tourists is rapidly expanding. More people now choose to travel in environment friendly ways. In my opinion, it is a great positive trend but it still might have some drawbacks.
To begin with, eco-tourism is a trend of visiting and exploring nature sites such as forests and the rapid increase in the favour of eco-tourism benefits in several ways. Firstly, it protects the nature, thus saving our planet. Secondly, it increases job opportunities for local tribals such as travelling options or cooking for tourists. Thirdly, it is great source of knowledge about ecosystem and several biological processes for the tourists.
However, eco-tourism might have some disadvantages. First, it can pollute the environment mainly the water because of the plastic waste thrown in it. Second, it can be much expensive and several people might not be able to afford it. Third, mismanagement of the travel plan can create several hurdles and disturb the local communities. Finally, while travelling in forests, there might be a danger of a wild animal or sometimes a poisonous plant or fruit that might look eatable.
Indeed, the eco-tourism might have drawbacks but it's major benefit is the protection of nature and rise in economic value in tribal areas which outweigh the disadvantages.
To conclude, if the trend of eco-tourism is securely planned and in budget than it might not be a big problem, rather it will encourage people to be more careful towards the nature and the Earth might still be saved.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you consider eco-tourism a positive trend overall, while acknowledging possible disadvantages. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including nature protection, local employment, environmental pollution and risks to visitors. This covers the task well, but some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that eco-tourism “protects the nature” would be stronger with an explanation of how responsible travel funds conservation or limits damage. The disadvantages also vary in relevance and development: the danger of poisonous plants is mentioned but not connected clearly to the overall impact of the industry. To strengthen the response, develop fewer points with specific examples and explain more directly why the benefits outweigh the costs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, a summary of your position, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument, and the final paragraph returns to your central view. This is a sound foundation, though the linking is sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Thirdly” lists. Some connections between ideas are also unclear: the sentence about “the rapid increase in the favour of eco-tourism” is difficult to follow, and the conclusion introduces secure planning and affordability without fully linking these conditions to the earlier discussion. Use clearer references and transitions that show how each reason supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourism,” “ecosystem,” “local communities,” and “plastic waste,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “biological processes” and “mismanagement.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “in the favour of eco-tourism,” “protects the nature,” and “rise in economic value in tribal areas” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Travelling options” is also unclear in the context of local employment. Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose precise terms—for example, describe employment as “job opportunities for local residents” and nature as “the natural environment.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including cause-and-effect clauses (“as a result”) and a conditional sentence in the conclusion. Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “as a result the number” needs punctuation after the introductory phrase, while “it is great source” is missing an article. In “it's major benefit,” the possessive form should be “its,” and “benefit is … which outweigh” creates an unclear agreement and reference. The final sentence also needs “is securely planned” and “within budget” to form the intended construction. Review articles, possessives, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation, then proofread complex sentences to ensure their clauses connect clearly.
