Student answer (Band 5.5)
Eco-tourists considering themselves responsible and adapting environmentally friendly ways is a very positive trend for the eco-tourism industry. As we know this industry is expanding, it is a great sign for both the tourists and the management. I see this in following ways:
1. First of all when the behavior of the visitors is perfect then the management is encouraged to provide more facilities to make the experience of tourists better and more memorable.
2. With the passage of time, there has been shortage of jobs in almost everyfield (specially in Tech). And with time unemployment is becoming a major problem. If the hosts i.e management gets a positive response from the tourists, then they definetly increase their service and expand their departments and hire more people. So to some point it is a good sign for unemployed people.
3. As this industry is expanding, countries which were not into eco-tourism are now considering it and trying to get the attention of eco-tourists i.e resulting more eco-friendly spots with proper facilities to visitors.
I can withstand my point with my own experience. Two years ago, the government of our city thought it would be a great to generate side revenue if they make a tourism point in our city, so they invested around 100 million PKR on that project and when it was completed, they opened the point for tourists, not only for international tourists but for national tourists as well. But they didn't pay attention to eco-tourism. First year was a success but with the passage of time peoply started making that place dirty. The management was not enough so that point lost it's name. And on every new week, the number of tourists was decreasing and eventually in it's last month, there were only 42 tourists in total. And that place is ruined and no one visits it.
When we see the developed countries, we notice that those countries paid special attention to eco-tourism and now people from all over the world visits their places. The tourists are getting facilities and the hosts are making money. I really hope my country also adapt this concept so that this industry also grow here.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you regard the growth of eco-tourism as positive, and you give relevant reasons involving improved services, employment and the creation of environmentally friendly destinations. The city example also supports your point by showing how poor management and visitor behaviour can damage a tourist site. However, the response does not consistently explain the environmental benefits that are central to the question. For instance, the first two numbered points focus mainly on facilities and jobs, while the link between responsible tourism and protecting nature is left implicit. The comparison with developed countries is also broad rather than supported with a specific example. Develop these points more fully and connect each one directly to why the trend is positive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable overall structure: an introduction, a list of reasons, a personal example and a concluding comparison. This helps the reader follow the main argument. However, the numbered list makes the essay feel more like notes than connected academic paragraphs, and the progression between ideas is sometimes mechanical. Phrases such as “First of all,” “With the passage of time” and “As this industry is expanding” signal links, but the relationships between claims could be made clearer. The long city example would benefit from being divided into a focused paragraph, with a clearer link back to eco-tourism. Use topic sentences and transitions that show how each paragraph develops your position, and make references such as “that point” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “eco-tourism,” “environmentally friendly,” “unemployment,” “facilities” and “revenue.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “side revenue” and “positive response.” However, several choices are awkward or imprecise, which makes parts of the argument less natural: “withstand my point” does not mean support an argument, and “lost it’s name” is unclear in this context. Spelling and word-form slips such as “definetly,” “peoply” and “everyfield” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas sound clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If the hosts … gets a positive response … then they … hire more people,” and a longer account of the tourism project. Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. In the conditional sentence, the subject and verb do not agree (“hosts … gets”), and the sentence shifts between singular “management” and plural “they.” There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “thought it would be a great to generate side revenue,” and with possessive forms in “it’s last month.” Some sentences are long and joined with commas, making their structure harder to follow. Practise accurate agreement, articles and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
