Student answer (Band 5.0)

Concerns for the environment is becoming increasingly high, and alot of people now advocate to become eco-tourists.As a result the industry begins to increase. In this essay I will be giving reasons and answers on why this is a positive development.

Most people always have genuine concerns for the environment as it can affect them in major ways such as sickness, Internal illness, risks, inhalation of contaminated air, death and other problems which may not be easily solved.Could be seen as a reason why more people are now deciding to be eco-tourists which basically means travelling in responsible and environmentally-friendly ways, because of its trusted hygiene and uniqueness. In returns the eco-tourist industry becomes increasingly popular and continues to expand which is quite a success for the company.

If traveling in a normal environment would be quite a risk with the initials of an unhealthy environment then,it is quite positive to become an eco-tourist as it safe and can be relied on better. In a past experience there was to be a field trip for my family but, there were signs of bad environment which were ignored till we reached the place although everything went smoothly for us,there was a clear problem the next day which happened as a result of the bad environment, everyone had challenges with breathing and couldn't afford to do some basic things. It was clear that we all needed to get treated fast,we rushed to the hospital and were rendered help after which some medications were given with a strict advice on avoiding such places because of how it could severely affect us.At least,we got better that was the good and since then hardly any trip has ever been made again except being sure of the hygiene of the route to avoid consequences.

In conclusion, the hygiene of an environment should be of utmost concern and choosing to be an eco-tourist is quite advisable to avoid stress or health problems. As,tge industry expands it tends to bring out more ideas that will suit most with their customers. Therefore, making it a successful company that takes hygiene seriously.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that eco-tourism is positive, and the personal account of your family’s breathing difficulties provides a relevant example of why environmental conditions matter. However, the response only partially develops the task: it focuses mainly on hygiene and health risks, rather than explaining broader environmental benefits or possible drawbacks of the industry. The claim that eco-tourism is “safe” and “can be relied on better” is not sufficiently qualified or supported, and the conclusion’s point about the industry producing “more ideas” is unclear. To strengthen the response, explain how responsible travel can protect habitats or support local communities, and develop each reason with a specific, clearly connected example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its basic structure. The family-trip story also gives the second body paragraph a central focus. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from illness to eco-tourism’s “uniqueness” and then to company success without explaining the links. Connectors such as “As a result,” “In returns,” and “Therefore” are used mechanically or inaccurately, and the long anecdote contains several events in one paragraph without clear sequencing. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, divide the example into manageable steps, and use linking phrases only when their logical relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “eco-tourists,” “environmentally-friendly,” “contaminated air,” and “hygiene,” which helps communicate the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “advocate to become eco-tourists” does not express the intended idea naturally, while “the initials of an unhealthy environment” is unclear. “In returns” and “successful company” also do not fit the intended meaning. Aim for precise phrases such as “choose to travel responsibly,” “the risks associated with polluted environments,” and “the industry’s growth.” Check spelling and word forms, including “a lot,” and avoid repeating “environment” and “positive” where more specific terms would help.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional opening to the second body paragraph and a sequence describing what happened during the family trip. However, complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “Concerns for the environment is,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “As,tge industry expands,” which contains punctuation and typing problems. Several sentences run together, such as the opening and the long account beginning “there was to be a field trip,” making sentence boundaries unclear. Practise agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries; then build longer sentences with one clear main clause and carefully controlled subordinate clauses.
