Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you regard the growth of eco-tourism as positive, and you explain that it is intended to reduce tourism’s environmental harm and encourage responsible behaviour. The discussion of littering, entry into restricted wildlife areas and vehicle pollution gives relevant reasons for the trend. However, the response focuses more on how eco-tourism arose than on evaluating its benefits, and the claim that it “reduced the harmful environmental effects” is not supported with a specific example or explanation. The point that it attracts people previously opposed to tourism is also introduced but not developed. To strengthen the response, explain how responsible travel protects a particular place or benefits local communities, and consider any limitations before reaching your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. The ideas generally move from the environmental problems caused by conventional tourism to eco-tourism as a response. However, the first body paragraph discusses both tourism’s economic benefits and its environmental costs, while the next paragraph repeats some of the same background, so the progression is not always smooth. Some links are mechanical, and “On the one hand” is not followed by a clearly balanced opposing side. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use clearer references between ideas, and make the relationship between the problem and proposed solution explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourism,” “environmental effects,” “restricted wildlife zones” and “local economy,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “environmental activists” and “responsible behaviour.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “peole,” “economoy,” “envionmental” and “concous,” and some combinations are unnatural, such as “the general mass” and “violating entries.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they reduce precision. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, for example, “entering restricted areas” and “the general public,” to make your vocabulary more natural and accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some sentence structures are nevertheless faulty or incomplete. For example, “On the one hand, as environment was continuously polluted…” is a dependent clause without a main clause, while “this trend also attracting people” lacks a finite verb. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “the climate … changed … and it’s effect … were noticeable” and “numerous travel agency … have emerged.” Articles and plurals also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense, agreement and article use when proofreading.
