Student answer (Band 5.5)
Gradually increasing the number of prople who are concerned about the environment. People are choosing to be eco-tourists, in response, they are travelling in environmently-friendly ways. As increassing in number of eco-tourists, the eco-tourism industry is also expanding. I think it is a positive trend.
Overall, as the environment is under thread now a days. Increase in eco-friendly tourism is very important. Before, people were not that much concerned about the environment and we are seeing the results in the form of pollution in the air, destruction of forests, temperature increase, increase in wasteage, etc. It has some disadvantages also. People from various areas carry some diseases with them as well. But we are seeing that the advantages are more than the disadvantages.tourist
With the environmentally-friedly ways of tourism, tourists mostly prefer to explore the areas less crowdy, less noisy and less poluted areas to make them feel fresh and feel the nature. In Pakistan, a large number of people go to the northern areas and escape from their polluted areas to explore the nature. Last year, one of my friend planned with the tourism company and visited the northern areas for the first time. His expressions were totally different. He was so depressed before that tripand after the trip he was so fresh. After that trip, he said he will visit these pollution free and fresh airy areas every year.
Although, tourism have some disadvantages as well. A large number of tourists leave their wasteage and spoil the beauty and make it polluted with the passage of time. They make the quite places noisy. But, I still support environmently-friendly ways of tourism.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that eco-tourism is positive, while acknowledging that tourists can leave waste and disturb quiet places. The Pakistan example and your friend’s experience are relevant and help illustrate the appeal of visiting natural areas. However, the response only partly develops the question of whether the industry’s expansion is positive: much of the discussion describes how visitors feel, rather than explaining how responsible tourism benefits the environment or local communities. The disadvantages are also briefly stated without showing how they might be reduced. To strengthen the response, explain what makes tourism genuinely responsible and develop one or two specific environmental or community benefits, while keeping your position clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, discussion of benefits, a personal example, and a final paragraph on disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Although” and “But” show an attempt to connect contrasting points. However, progression is uneven: the second paragraph moves quickly from environmental problems to disease and then to a general comparison of advantages and disadvantages. Some connections are unclear, and the final paragraph repeats the position rather than drawing the discussion together. The opening also consists of several short, loosely connected statements. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use clearer references to connect examples to that point, and make the conclusion briefly summarise why the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourists,” “pollution,” “destruction of forests,” and “waste,” and you attempt descriptive phrases such as “pollution-free” and “fresh airy areas.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of your ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “environmently-friendly,” “crowdy,” and “wasteage.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “temperature increase” and “make them feel fresh and feel the nature.” Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range of terms connected to sustainable travel, conservation, and local communities. Proofreading spelling and choosing more natural expressions will make your meaning more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a time sequence describing your friend’s trip. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Gradually increasing the number of people…” is a sentence fragment, while “tourism have some disadvantages” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “As increassing in number…” is also not grammatically complete. There are problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries in places, such as “one of my friend” and the run-on construction around “After that trip.” Practise forming complete clauses, checking agreement and articles, and punctuating longer sentences carefully.
