Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world where protecting environment is one of the major concerns, the expansion of eco-tourism insudustry is a breath of fresh air and a postive trend for the environment. This essay will discuss the need of protecting the environment, the postive impact of eco-tourism along with the examples from my own past experience.

To begin with, I feel necessary to mention that at present, the tourist sites are facing major issues of pollution througout the world. There are many concerns, which are effectively answered by adopting to number of effective solutions. One of them is the introduction of eco-tourism. People consiously travel while adopting environment friendly ways, whose impact is visible and will be more clear with time. For example people avoid throwing plastic and other grabage near the popular destinations which help avoiding waste that in the past keep sitting and decomposed very late if left unattended. But now it is vanishing steadily. Similarly, we can see the places where water become effected by such type of items, eco-friendly tourist are bringing change, which is indeed a cosntructive development for the nature.

I had been the part of one such ventures in the summer last year. I got a chance of visting lake saif-ul-malooq with my cousins. Previously, when I visted that vary place I saw a lot of garbage that caused a great stress to me but this time I decided to take oath with my cousin that we will travel as a eco-tourist. We responsibily adopted all the measures to keep the environment clean. Upon reaching the spot, we gathered some people and hold a small cleanliness drive to clear the visible waste at the spot and to raise awareness among the indiviuals.

To conclude, I feel necessary to mention that this precious planet is the most valuable gift from the god. It is our core responsibilty to keep it clean by adopting to such ways and also educate people in order to contribute in the expansion eco-tourism industry as well. If we beacme successfull in acheiving this at indiviual level there will be frutiful results in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you regard the growth of eco-tourism as positive, and you support this with points about reducing litter and protecting water, followed by a personal example from Lake Saif-ul-Malook. This addresses the question and gives relevant reasons. However, the discussion is not equally developed throughout. The general claims about pollution and eco-tourists’ impact are broad, and the personal account mainly describes a clean-up activity rather than explaining how the expanding industry creates wider environmental benefits. The essay would be more convincing if you explained the extent of your support explicitly and developed a further consequence, such as funding conservation or changing local businesses’ practices, while acknowledging any possible limitations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The personal example is placed in its own paragraph, and transitions such as “To begin with,” “Similarly” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is less clear. The first body paragraph moves from pollution to litter, then to water pollution without fully explaining the links, while phrases such as “There are many concerns, which are effectively answered” are vague and do not guide the reader to a specific point. Some linking expressions also feel mechanical. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; this would make the argument’s progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “eco-tourism,” “environmentally friendly,” “pollution,” “awareness” and “cleanliness drive,” which allows you to discuss the subject clearly. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “constructive development” and “core responsibility.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “insudustry,” “postive,” “grabage” and “cosntructive.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “take oath” and “the places where water become effected” do not convey your meaning smoothly. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, such as “take a pledge” and “water is affected by waste,” so your vocabulary is more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “where” and “which,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur across the response, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “as a eco-tourist” needs an article that agrees with the following sound, and “the places where water become effected” has problems with subject–verb agreement and clause structure. In “which help avoiding waste,” the verb form and agreement are also inaccurate. There are some long sentences whose clauses are not clearly controlled. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and review articles and agreement; this will help you retain complex structures while improving accuracy.
