Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the town square development, identifying key changes between 2014 and 2020. However, the overview is weak; it lacks a clear summary of the most significant trends, such as the shift from administrative/industrial use to a more commercial and recreational focus. The description is somewhat repetitive and relies on a list-like approach rather than a comparative analysis. To improve, you should group information more logically (e.g., comparing the north, south, and central areas) and provide a more analytical overview in the introduction or as a separate paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover'. Some transitions are awkward, such as 'on below side' or 'on the frount side', which disrupts the flow. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the spatial relationships between the buildings. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that spatial references are precise would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'things', 'opened', and 'happened'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'gallary', 'resturant', and 'frount', which detract from the professional tone required for an Academic Task 1. While you attempt to describe the features, the lack of precise terminology (e.g., using 'upgradation' instead of 'redevelopment' or 'renovation') limits your score. To reach a higher band, focus on using more specific vocabulary related to urban planning and maps, and ensure accurate spelling of common words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there was few things was build', 'there was so many bars and resturants was opened'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction. Incorporating a wider variety of complex structures, such as relative clauses or passive voice, would help demonstrate a higher level of grammatical control.
