Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all key features of the development plan, including the conversion of the museum, the replacement of the fish market, and the new additions to the town square. You successfully identified the main trends and made relevant comparisons between 2014 and 2020. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; while it mentions administrative buildings and the fountain area, it could be more comprehensive by summarizing the overall shift from a commercial/civic focus to a more leisure-oriented space. The description of the administrative building being divided into '8 eight units' is a bit repetitive, and the mention of the fountain remaining the same is accurate but could be integrated more smoothly into the narrative.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and an overview. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Moving to the right side' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. For instance, 'In addition to that' is used twice in close proximity. Additionally, some sentences are slightly disjointed, such as the abrupt ending of the third paragraph: 'the most significant change will be made to the administrative building.' This creates a minor break in the flow of information. Improving the variety of linking phrases would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'refurbished', 'demolished', 'converted', and 'utilized'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'accomodate for' (should be 'accommodate') and 'plans for development developing' (a redundant repetition). While you attempt to use specific terminology related to the diagram, the range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise descriptive language to describe the spatial changes, such as 'transformed into', 'repurposed', or 'designated for'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'As for the fountain and townhall will remain the same' (a structural error where the subject is left hanging) and '8 eight' (a redundancy). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are missing commas after introductory phrases, which affects readability. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of these minor errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and avoiding redundant phrasing will significantly improve your accuracy.
