IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be completed by 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In 2014, there is a fish market and town hall along with fish market there is a history museum and along with town hall there is a administration building and on the left of the town hall there is a spacious bar. In front of bar there is also a fish restaurant . below the

on the left side of the fish restaurant there is a small beautiful library. in between there is fountain and bandstand is just beside the fountain.

the difference between in 2020 layout is replace fish market with supermarket and town hall still there. administrative building replace with shops and shops also cover fish restaurant, bar area and library area. History museum replace with local artists gallery.

In between fountain is still there but bandstand remove and in front of fountain there are beautiful plant beds and beside fountain there are cozy covered sitting area . Additionally, besides the fountain there is child play ground.
