IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be completed by 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The diagram illustrates existing area of a town square in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be done by 2020 .

Overall, the diagram shows plenty of new facilities that will be added to the town square in the future development ,This includes getting advantage of the space in the center .

In 2014, the town square shows simple design containing fish market in the top left of the area , town hall in the top right , administrative buildings in the right and fountain in the center with bandstand beside it , in addition , the town square contains in the left side a large history museum and a library , it also have fish market in the down side of the building and a bar if you want to relax and drink .

In 2020 , the plans shows that the construction will be changing a lot of the design letting the town square to have more facilities , starting with the new left side of the building , town square use to have administrative building so they are planning to remove it and change
