The diagram below shows a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be completed by 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given diagram shows us the map or plans for the development of a town square and the surrounding area, which is expected to be completed by 2020.
The map shows significant difference as by 2020 some buildings will change into shops and new places are also the part of plan to be built by 2020. For instance, the administrative buildings in the east side will be converted into shops. However, the town hall will remain as town hall.
Beside the town hall, there is fish market in 2014 which will transform into supermarket. Moreover, there is a band stand in northeast in 2014 which will be converted into plant beds exapnding towards the north west below the supermarket in 2020.
Although the fountain in the center of the map will remain same by 2020, the empty area below the fountain will be covered by the covered seeting, above the covered seeting in south east, there will be a new playground in 2020.
