IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be completed by 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The figures illustrate a town square and compound area before and after the development from 2014 to 2020.
Overall, the structural change were observed turning a certain important structures. Covered sitting and children playground was newly introduce into the area. Fish market, history museum and bandstand into supermarket, local artistic gallery and plant beds.
In 2014, there was a presence of history museum bandstand and a fish market which had been replaced by new construction. Furthermore, administrative building was turn onto a shop. However, townhall and fish restaurant and bar were in the original position from 2014. Foundation was build north of the cover sitting opposite of the newly constructed shops.
In addition, fish restaurant and bar were divided into different section for instance, fish restaurant is divided in 3 section in a new sites whereas bar was sectioned into four making the sites more advanced. Children playground lies below the foundation opposite of covered sitting.
