The diagram below shows a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the plans for development of the area to be completed by 2020. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The diagram illustrates a town square and surrounding area in 2014 and the redevelopment of the area will be completed by 2020. The map shows the redevelopment of the area within a time period of 6 years.

Overall, it can be seen that there will be significant changes in the centre of the area there will be children's park, plant beds, covered seating therefore, many other places will be reconstructed by 2020.

At the begining, supermarket is going to replaced by fish market while town hall will remain unchanged. Local artist's gallery will be construct in the replacement of history museum. Moreover, plant beds in the south and two covered seating beside the fountain is scheduled to develop by 2020. In the east shops replaced by administrative buildings. In Addition, library is going to be removed even though the fountain is set to be revised but also bars and restaurant has been crossed out on the map.
