Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to describe the changes shown in the diagram between 2014 and 2020, noting features like the fountain, town hall, and new additions such as a children's playground and supermarket. However, the report fails to meet the core requirements of an academic task 1. It relies heavily on subjective, personal commentary ('In my opinion, it is benifical for every person who live in this town', 'Now, this place is good for living'), which is inappropriate for an objective data description. Furthermore, it lacks a clear overview of the main trends and provides vague, generalised statements ('limited accessories', 'all the neccessoires') instead of specific reporting of spatial changes and transformed locations. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text is divided into short, disjointed paragraphs, which mimics standard essay structure rather than the cohesive flow expected in an Academic Task 1 report. While there are basic attempts at transitional markers (e.g., 'Overall', 'In 2014', 'In conclusion'), the logical progression between sentences is weak. Reference pronouns (such as 'they have' and 'it renovated') are frequently unclear or incorrectly applied. Cohesive devices are used mechanically, and the overall organization fails to present a clear, structured comparison of the two map periods, resulting in choppy and disconnected reading.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and occasionally non-standard or inappropriate ('limited accessories', 'neccessoires', 'benifical', 'facilated'). There are frequent spelling errors ('benifical', 'modren', 'play ground', 'avilable', 'super market'). The writer attempts some less common terms like 'renovation' and 'supermarket', but the lexical range is severely restricted and inadequate for a precise description of geographical data, frequently straining the reader's understanding.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text relies heavily on simple sentence structures with frequent tense inconsistencies (shifting awkwardly between present and past, e.g., 'it has only limited facilities', 'the town has limited accessories'). There are also recurring punctuation errors and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. Complex sentence attempts are virtually absent, and basic subject-verb agreement or word-form errors occur in almost every sentence, significantly impeding clear communication.
