Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the two dates and mention several relevant changes, including the replacement of the fish market, the new gallery, plant beds and playground, and the retention of the town hall and fountain. However, the overview is vague (“some has been changed”), and important details are missing or inaccurate: the library is not shown as removed, and the fish restaurant and bar are redeveloped as bars and restaurants rather than permanently removed. The claim that new shops are to the right of the playground is also imprecise. The response is 134 words, below the required 150, and this limits how fully you can report and compare the plans. Add a clear overview and describe the main changes accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic chronological structure: it begins with a general statement and then describes features of the 2014 and 2020 plans. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to connect points. However, the overview and detail are not clearly separated, and the paragraph is largely a sequence of loosely connected statements. Repetition—especially “There are several changed” and “over the 6 years”—weakens progression, while some references, such as “right side of the library,” are difficult to follow. Organise the response into a short overview followed by grouped comparisons of the northern, central and southern areas, using clear location references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “town square,” “fountain,” “plant beds,” “children’s playground” and “covered seating,” so the reader can recognise several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms are inaccurate, such as “ambitions for construct,” “minimum building,” “permanently removed” and “new changed.” Spelling errors, including “illustrares,” “Histroy” and “permantely,” also reduce precision. These issues sometimes make the intended changes unclear. Build a more accurate set of map-description phrases, such as “was replaced by,” “remained unchanged,” “was converted into” and “along the eastern side,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and some basic relationships are understandable, for example, “Town hall and fountain did not alter in 2020.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent. There are errors in agreement (“The two diagram provides”), verb forms (“has been replace”), articles and plurals (“there were mnimum building”), and sentence construction (“There are many new shops has been constructed”). Tense use also shifts within descriptions of the plans. These errors frequently interrupt the flow and sometimes obscure meaning. Practise accurate past-tense passive forms for map changes, such as “the fish market was replaced,” and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms in each sentence.
