Student answer (Band 5.0)

Today's people choose quality over quantity. So the objects we use daily basis that are we need hug amount. For that reason the environment resources are decrease day by day.

To begin with, environment resources like trees, foods, and water, are we use in daily life . So that the resources are less as compared to previous days. Because the natural products are limited , so this is the main reason for recycling the product. If we use new products daily then definitely one day the resources are end. For example , we know we have limited trees and plants in the jungle. where we use for making papers and if we need always new paper and fresh one then we choose either recycle or less consume. Like where it necessary then use otherwise use different things.

Secondly, now few years before we start to use recycling products ,like waste paper to new paper bags or new note books, and plastic bag to paper bag , waste food to organic fertilizer, biofuel, compost and biogas. But we don't have any limits, so it hampers the environment growing. So that some people and scientist are propose recycling is not enough , we need to consume less products. If we don't follow the rule then we all suffer .

In conclusion, i believe that when we use the resources wisely then it gives us as a magic. But some illiterate peoples they use very roughly and don't think for future. Government must have apply some rule and policy so that the citizens take it seriously.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the importance of recycling and the necessity of consuming less. However, the development of these ideas is limited. The arguments are somewhat repetitive, and the explanation of why consuming less is superior to recycling lacks depth. While a personal opinion is provided in the conclusion, it is not well-integrated or supported throughout the essay. The ideas are often presented in a fragmented way, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical progression of the argument. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with specific examples and ensuring your position is clear from the introduction through to the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the overall structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'So that' and 'Because the natural products are limited' are used incorrectly, which disrupts the flow of ideas. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject matter. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nevertheless') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'environment resources are decrease' instead of 'environmental resources are decreasing' and 'illiterate peoples' to describe people who are not environmentally conscious. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word formation and usage prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology related to environmental issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the resources are end'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex structures, such as 'where we use for making papers'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces placed incorrectly before commas. While the reader can generally understand the intended meaning, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
