Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 196 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to discuss both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. For instance, the claim that people 'utilize their a lot of time in food' is unclear and does not effectively support the argument regarding consumption. The position is stated but lacks the necessary elaboration to fully address the prompt. To improve, you must expand your points with concrete examples and ensure the essay meets the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some linking words like 'On the other hand' and 'As a result', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To conclusion' instead of 'In conclusion'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow between sentences. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly through your arguments. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'pollution', 'good', and 'environment' throughout the text. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'worried about recycle' (should be 'recycling') and 'utilize food' (which does not fit the context of consumption). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form and context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'over population have become' and 'people utilizes'. Articles are frequently misused or omitted, for example, 'is a effective way' (should be 'an effective way') and 'is a best way'. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically article usage, verb tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
