Student answer (Band 5.0)
pollution in the environment is growing and more day by day but some people believe that it should be recycle but in my point of view I completely agree with this statement.below I will prove my point if view with some general and major examples.
Some people believe that pollution in environment can be control only by recycling and but some people think that we should need to consume less I think so these are correct because only recycling can't control the pollution if we have to control the pollution we should have to burn less . In some quality we can recycle the pollutated after some time it become large in quantity and not easy to control so we have to use or consume less I fully support this statement I am fully agreed with this . I decode some example to prove my statement some factories are making large amount of pollutants per day but from this a small amount of pollutants are recycle and released to fresh air if the factor produced only a small amount to pollutants that can be easily removed factories should have to consume less
With other point of view pollutants make more and more day by day and at that time recycling is not enough for that we should have to consume less and only the number that we want .
In my opinion pollution for environment is growing day by day people are selecting to recycle things and pollutants but some are trying to consume less

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both recycling and consuming less, but the development is weak. The ideas are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the argument about factories producing pollutants is vague and does not clearly link to the concept of 'consuming less' at a consumer level. The position is stated, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and lack logical progression. The response struggles to move beyond basic assertions, failing to provide a well-supported discussion as required for higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no logical paragraphing, and the flow of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'some people believe' and 'in my point of view'. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. The lack of clear topic sentences and logical sequencing significantly hinders the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student frequently uses basic terms like 'pollution', 'recycling', and 'consume'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'pollutated' instead of 'polluted' and 'in some quality' which does not convey the intended meaning. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the errors in word formation and collocation are noticeable throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'some factories are making large amount of pollutants per day but from this a small amount of pollutants are recycle'). Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and erratic use of commas, which makes the text difficult to read.
