Student answer (Band 5.0)
Environmental problems are increasing day by day. Some people believe that recycling is best solution for it,while some argue that we should reduce so that environment can become clean and less polluted. I will discuss both views and give my own opinion regarding it.
Firstly, I will discuss about second school of thought that is about reducing the things will reduce environmental problems.
Population, increasing industrial growth and more need of products for modern world can not do it as it is mindful task to achieve for everyone who will follow it. There is need of plastic products, goods and services for common people as they can not live except it .
Secondly, the people who give opinion about recycling are conscious and wise about environmental problems as recycling is not a hard task for everyone to achieve.Environmental sustainability is necessary for today's world as pollution is increasing day by day.By recycling one can contribute in cleaning environment.
According to my opinion recycling is best ever solution for environmental problems as it can reduce the new material use in modern world, more and more products will be reused and all material will be recycled again .3R policy for the environmental sustainability will be followed and it will reduce the modern environmental problems.According to WHO if recycling is adopted in this era it will be beneficial and more advantageous for us.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding 'reducing consumption' are underdeveloped and somewhat contradictory, as you state it is a 'mindful task' but then suggest it is impossible for people to live without products. The discussion on recycling is more coherent but lacks depth in explaining why it might be considered 'the best solution'. To improve, you should provide specific examples or logical explanations for your claims rather than repeating general statements like 'pollution is increasing day by day'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the necessary detail to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Firstly, I will discuss about second school of thought' is clunky and repetitive. The logical progression between sentences is often weak, making the flow feel disjointed. While there is a clear attempt to use linking words, they are not always used naturally. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms and repetitive phrases such as 'environmental problems' and 'modern world'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'mindful task' and 'give opinion about'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of sustainability and consumption. Avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay and try to incorporate more precise terminology to express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'reduce so that environment can become clean'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'as they can not live except it'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct article usage would be a beneficial next step.
