Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this today’s modern world, individuals do recycling to protect tge environment. Concern for the environment is growing and numerous citizens are choosing to recycle. However, few people suggest that recycling is not only enough for prevent the environmental problems. I discuss the both views and give my opinion in the following notion.
To begin with, individuals think that recycling is only the process in which they help the environment from harmful damages. One of the major reason is that recycling is very common among public, they only know about its process that how they to do it in life. Therefore, they easily do that in their daily life and make the environment clean.
On the other hand, some citizens believe that if they consume less in their daily life ,they couldn’t not need to do recycling process. To explain this, recycling process is a very long procedure and it takes a lot of time to make another product. Not only it takes numerous steps but also it is very costly. Thus, people don’t want to do recycling process as it is very expensive and time consuming.
In my opinion, people must do recycling when they use the product. Apart from this, it is very essential that they learn the whole process and to do that in their homes without helo of the government and make the environment neat and clean.
In conclusion, although recycling process is very long and expensive, as it provide a lot of benefits to individuals and surroundings. Furthermore, school should teach students regarding its process and authorities must spread awareness about this.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is somewhat superficial. You discuss the importance of recycling and the argument for consuming less, but the reasoning is repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument that recycling is 'very long and expensive' is mentioned but not supported with specific examples or logical evidence. Your opinion is stated, but it does not fully engage with the complexity of the prompt, which asks to weigh the two approaches. To improve, ensure each body paragraph provides a clear, well-developed point supported by an example or a logical consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is unclear, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. Referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some sentences feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows from the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'clean', and 'process', which are repeated frequently. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'help the environment from harmful damages' and 'not only enough for prevent'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more precise synonyms and academic collocations to demonstrate a better command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You make frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'In this today’s modern world', 'they couldn’t not need', and 'without helo of the government'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also problematic throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical slips and practice using more complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, with greater accuracy.
