Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different views to protect environment. Although, majority of people accept recycle. I favour those who opine that consumption should be minimized where recycle is not enough.
On the one hand, majority of people believe recycle is enough for protection environment, where people have positive mind set to protect environment by having responsibility to reuse. Elaborating further, reusing products should be practiced more by motivating society. this can be more effective if large scale industries start to recycle and make environment to be protected. For example, plastic is the significant factor which effects environment and recycle can solve this issue.
On the other hand, i favour those who say recycling is not enough and we should minimize the consumption of such products. this can be a accurate solution, where people believe to reduce such usage. Elaborating further, people say recycle is not enough because nowadays products are been used more then their requirement and recycle industries have burden as a result people can solve this issue. For example, Plastic is the significant factor for environmental impact and majority of products are produced with plastic; however, people are in correct path to reduce such usage and be environmentally friendly.
In conclusion, my opinion is to minimize the consumption of such products which are harmful to protect environment; Moreover, people are correct to choose recycling and make sure to reduce such usage and be ecofriendly and protect environment, As a result this steps can lead to solution for such kind of environmental issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding recycling and consumption are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the explanation of why recycling is insufficient is vague, stating only that 'products are been used more then their requirement'. The essay would benefit from more specific examples or logical chains of reasoning to support the claims. While the task is addressed, the lack of detailed elaboration keeps this in the lower band range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often mechanical. The use of cohesive devices like 'Elaborating further' and 'On the one hand' is repetitive and sometimes used incorrectly, such as starting sentences with 'this' without a clear antecedent. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the second body paragraph where the link between plastic usage and the burden on recycling industries is not clearly articulated. Improved use of linking words and better sentence-to-sentence cohesion would enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There is significant repetition of words like 'recycle', 'environment', and 'consumption'. Some word choices are unnatural or inaccurate, such as 'positive mind set' instead of 'positive attitude' or 'accurate solution' when 'effective' or 'sustainable' would be more appropriate. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the overall control is limited, and the phrasing often feels simplistic or slightly awkward, which hinders the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('products are been used'), incorrect verb forms ('more then their requirement'), and missing articles ('protect environment'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters and others having awkward comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band.
