Student answer (Band 4.0)

In the 2nd task its about the environment growing in my point of you the recycling things is more important know a days either its a botel or plastic bags or any thing which can be re used for people .

As the other concerns about the not to use the recycle it’s usually people don’t like the recycle things but they dont know about the things if we didn’t use in our life it can impact on pollution garbage But if we use these items in our life it will be useful for us and there will be no more garbage and pollution around us so . Many countries have their own dustbin for plastic bags botels woods or many things they have bins to throw their and then governments collect all the recyclable garbages and make them new for us and safe to use agian .

But as i told you that i personally do the recycling i used the botels to changes into decoration i used wood in to tables and many things and the government also doing the same thing to protect out environment and free pollution place and use the garbage as a recycle .

In the conclusion i would rather in the favor of recycling things but many people have their own choice but they have to know the benefits which can give us more thing to reuse and we have a good environment and good health and free pollution place for us .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response addresses the topic but fails to discuss both views in a balanced or academic manner. The prompt asks to discuss the view that we need to consume less, but the student focuses almost exclusively on personal recycling habits and government waste management. The argument is repetitive and lacks depth, failing to explore the implications of 'consuming less' as a strategy. The position is stated, but the development of ideas is superficial and lacks relevant examples or logical progression. The response does not meet the requirements for a formal academic essay, as it reads more like a personal narrative than a balanced discussion of two distinct environmental perspectives.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there are paragraphs, the progression of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'but' and 'and' to link unrelated clauses. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. There is no clear introduction or conclusion that effectively frames the argument. The transition between the two views is abrupt and lacks the necessary signposting required for an academic response, resulting in a text that feels fragmented and difficult to navigate.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic, informal language such as 'things', 'stuff', and 'good'. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'botels' for bottles, 'know a days' for nowadays, and 'agian' for again. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas about environmental policy or consumer behavior. There is no attempt to use topic-specific collocations or academic terminology. The persistent misuse of basic words and the lack of variety significantly hinder the communication of the intended message, keeping the score at a low level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is highly problematic throughout the essay. There are frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'But if we use these items in our life it will be useful for us and there will be no more garbage and pollution around us so .' The use of articles and prepositions is consistently inaccurate. There is almost no evidence of complex sentence structures, and the basic sentences that are present are frequently marred by errors that impede clarity. The lack of control over basic grammatical rules makes the text difficult to read.
