Student answer (Band 5.0)

The given statement gives information about the environment is growing and more and more people are choosing to recycle. But some people suggest that recycling is not enough. They believe we need to consume less. I am concerned, and I partly agree with the above mentioned statement. Nevertheless, I discuss the opinion of those people who say recycling play an important role in growing environment. Some people said that recycling is important for maintain balance between product manufacturing and distribution. They believe every material should be recycled before launch to new items, it helps to resolve the problems easily. On the other hand, some people viewpoints is to consume less, in this way we control waste items easily. They say no extra waste material come when we apply restrict on items, in this way, we easily control growing environment. It helps to control waste garbage spread, for example, when we use less things in our daily life routine, the chances of garbage spread on roads reduce. Less consumption of products help to reduce chances of disease spread in environment and we become healthy and active. People believe when we consume less, government departments need less effort to manage and clean it. However, I disagree with the above views points who totally agree or disagree with the statement and I will prove it with my strong arguments, although some people argue on it, but from my perspective, both are essential for the growing environment, environment issue is not control by only single struggle. Both play an significant role to control it. For example if we consume less than how we run the environment, mean to say we will not get any achievement. Moreover, if we recycle everything before observe than how we get experience and do something big in life, owing to the fact without experience and struggle, we can not get skill. Which will give benefit in life. So, both play crucial role in developing nation and its environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views (recycling vs. consuming less) and provides an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear. For instance, the argument regarding 'experience' and 'doing something big in life' is tangential and does not logically support the environmental debate. The position is stated but lacks depth, and the reasoning is frequently repetitive or confusing, such as the claim that consuming less would mean we 'will not get any achievement.' To improve, you should focus on providing clear, logical explanations for each viewpoint and ensure your personal opinion is supported by relevant, coherent arguments rather than abstract concepts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'On the other hand', 'Moreover'), they are often used incorrectly or do not effectively link the sentences. The logical flow is frequently interrupted by confusing phrasing and a lack of clear topic sentences. The transition between the two sides of the argument and your own opinion is abrupt. To reach a higher band, you must organize your essay into distinct paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion) and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'things', 'items', and 'do'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'apply restrict on items' instead of 'restrict consumption' and 'growing environment' used in a way that does not clearly convey the intended meaning. Some phrases are grammatically non-standard, which hinders the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'recycling play an important role'), incorrect verb tenses, and sentence fragments. Many sentences are poorly constructed, making the meaning difficult to grasp, such as 'environment issue is not control by only single struggle.' While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions.
