Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the role of recycling and the necessity of reducing consumption. You clearly state your position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide an example of recycling in India, the argument regarding reduced consumption is less detailed and relies on general statements. To improve, ensure that your supporting points are more thoroughly explained with specific, logical consequences. The response is balanced, but the depth of analysis could be increased to better meet the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Nevertheless', 'In contrast', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Foe instant' (should be 'For instance') and 'Tgus' (a typo for 'Thus'). Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the flow of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help create a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'reprocess method' instead of 'recycling', 'adquet' for 'adequate', and 'throe' for 'throw'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'environmental pollution' and 'consumption', but the range is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure correct spelling. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'things' or 'good'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'recent survey shown'), missing articles (e.g., 'in india'), and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'dramatically increment' instead of 'dramatic increase'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several missing spaces after commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors and practicing complex sentence formation.
