Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many individuals are having different believes for environment because some thin that recycling is not good and some are thinking it is very good. I believe that for these statements there are many reasons which i will justify in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, some people choosing to recycle and in my point of view i also agree with these people because nowadays all people are using plastic bags which is not good for health and if we bury the plastic it do not decomposes in the soil and if burn the plastic it also produce a harmful smoke which is not good for human and environment also. So recycle is best for plastic because after the recycle people can use easily plastic packing products. Furthermore, government also make a rule people use blue colour garbage bag for plastic. Recycle of any product is important and we save a money also after recycle.

On the other hand, some individuals suggest that recycling is not enough they believe that we need to consume less. These individuals are also right but nowadays all products packing are in bottles and in wrapers so recycling also most important. But we need to buy less products which are not recycled easily. Because recycling is also not a easy task before recycling any product there are many steps to recycle like firstly collect all bottles and wrapers and then separate all items which are recyclable. It is very difficult task to complete and all items are not recyclable. If we want to save our environment so recycled all items and c

To conclude, individuals are having there own choice and thinking because all items are important to eat and all are in usage in dailybases so we cannot consume less. Some are thinking good to protect our environment recycling is most important.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views—recycling and consuming less—but the development is inconsistent. While you mention the importance of recycling and the difficulties associated with it, the argument regarding consuming less is underdeveloped. You state that 'we cannot consume less' because items are necessary, but this lacks depth and fails to fully explore the environmental impact of overconsumption. Your position is present but could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay. To improve, ensure each viewpoint is supported by specific, logical arguments rather than just stating that a task is 'difficult' or 'important'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand'). There are instances where the logical flow is disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the abrupt ending of the third paragraph ('...recycled all items and c'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the relationship between ideas. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would help the essay flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. There are also errors in word choice and form, such as 'having different believes' (beliefs), 'it do not decomposes' (it does not decompose), and 'save a money'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple language prevent the essay from demonstrating a wider range of vocabulary. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to environmental issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('all people are using', 'it do not decomposes'), incorrect verb forms ('government also make a rule'), and awkward sentence structures. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty or contain punctuation errors. The control of basic grammar is inconsistent, and the lack of error-free sentences is a significant issue. Focusing on fundamental grammar rules, such as tense consistency and pluralisation, will lead to immediate improvement.
