Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes, recycling is very good strategy for improving the health of environment. As the population is growing rapidly and there is more demand of everyday products so recycling is a good practice because it is a cheaper and environment friendly that most of the developed country are also working on it.There are many example of recycling the products. I have see one of my friend is making a bag from the potato peel which is the good replacement of plastic bags as plastic is effective our environment so badly. So in my point of view recycling the product is a good practice not for our health as well as for the environment

I also agree with that recycling is not enough for environment but i donot agree with the second part which is that we should eat less because our environment is effectiving more . Eating product less will not help or benefit our environment. By working on 3R that is recycle, reduce and reuse is a good practice to overcome environment concern. We can reduce plastic waste, smoke, wasting less water will help more and more environment benefits. Also we can reuse certain product like shopping bags should be replace

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views, the discussion is underdeveloped and lacks depth. For instance, your argument regarding 'eating less' is based on a misunderstanding of the prompt, which refers to 'consuming less' (purchasing goods/resources) rather than dietary intake. Because the response is under-length and the arguments are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail, the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is insufficient. While there is some attempt at logical progression, the transition between ideas is often abrupt. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic or mechanical way, such as 'Also' and 'So'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. To improve, you should use a wider range of linking words and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good practice' and 'environment'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'plastic is effective our environment so badly' (should be 'affecting') and 'eating product less'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like '3R', but the overall range is not sufficient to express complex ideas with precision. You need to expand your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and synonyms to improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'most of the developed country are', and incorrect verb forms, such as 'I have see one of my friend'. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. To reach a higher band, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction and increasing the variety of your grammatical structures.
