Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that recycling is important and the view that we need to consume less, while also providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are generally relevant, but the development is somewhat limited and repetitive. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the essay contains 245 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This minor under-length penalty combined with the slightly under-developed supporting arguments places this criterion at Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression is hindered by repetitive meta-language in the introduction such as 'I will discuss both side of the statement. I will highlight these pionts in the subsequent paragraphs'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final sentence is incomplete. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To elabrate it' and 'On the others hand'. Overall, the organization shows some progression, but the mechanical nature and errors align this with Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and basic, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally strain the reader's understanding. Examples of errors include 'enviromental', 'recycle' instead of 'recycling', 'pappers', 'reuse' instead of 'reused', 'hebites', 'anothers', 'pullute', and 'The Globle Organisation'. While there is an attempt to use less common vocabulary like 'consumption' and 'unnecessary', the high frequency of lexical and spelling inaccuracies keeps the score at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence forms, but control is weak. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'Some people think that they protect the environment by recycle things', 'individual should reduce', and 'people should reduce to buy unnecessary things'. Punctuation and sentence construction errors are frequent, and the essay ends abruptly with an incomplete sentence ('Moreover, government should increase'). These persistent errors prevent the text from achieving a Band 6.0, resulting in a score of 5.0.
