Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both views—recycling versus consuming less—and includes a personal opinion and examples, such as mentioning plastic types and industrial pollution near a school. However, the development of ideas is severely hindered by major language barriers, run-on sentences, and disjointed phrasing. The discussion on recycling touches upon valid points like reuse and composting, but the second viewpoint regarding boycotting harmful products is underdeveloped and lacks clear academic extension. The position is discernible yet obscured by weak articulation and a fragmented structure, aligning best with Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The organization of the essay is chaotic. The text is divided into oversized, sprawling paragraphs that lack proper internal logical progression and punctuation boundaries. For instance, the second paragraph consists of a massive single sentence containing numerous clauses strung together without full stops or appropriate conjunctions (e.g., 'ought recycle for example how to reuse the old clothes towards the daily life how many types of plastic were availble...'). Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or mechanical, and referencing is frequently unclear. Paragraphing is not used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, pulling the score down to Band 4.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Lexical range and control are very limited. The vocabulary used is basic and heavily impacted by numerous severe spelling errors throughout the response, such as 'enviroment' instead of environment, 'coquered' instead of conquered, 'awrness' instead of awareness, 'acticviest' instead of activists, 'compny's' instead of companies, and 'sournded' instead of surrounded. Furthermore, word choices and collocations are often inappropriate or unnatural, for instance, 'plastic consiming chemical base product' or 'stale food and kitchen wastedge'. These persistent errors strain the reader and prevent communication from flowing smoothly, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is extremely weak. The response lacks basic sentence boundaries, resulting in massive run-on sentences with a complete absence of proper punctuation and capitalization (e.g., 'currently the whole world is facing...'). There is a very limited range of structures successfully deployed, and attempts at complex or compound structures are consistently faulty. Verb tense consistency, article usage, and agreement are widely ignored. Frequent, severe structural errors cause constant difficulty for the reader and distort meaning, placing this submission firmly at Band 4.0.
