Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a considerable debate about whether recycling is enough to keep our envirnoment safe or we should also need to consume less. I would say that we should focus on the usage of products that need to be recycled because only recycling is not enough to keep our envinoment safe.
On the one hand, recycling play a significantly role to keep our envirnoment healthy but with the increasing population it is very hard to perform recycling on such a large scale more industries need to be constructed to perform recycling procedure. So, we really need to reduce the usage of produce that can effect our natural resources and disrupts our envirnoment. For instance, people need to rely on natural resources for food and other things and should avoid the buying of packaged products.
On the other hand, Recyling is a beneficial process that we can use the same material again and again. This procedureundergo at the the industrial level and provide opportunity of employment to the public. For example, if more industries are developed for recycling process, more employers are required to work in the industries. it creats a great opportunity of employment.
In conclusion, I would like to state my point that we really need to decrease the usage of products with packaging and should be rely on natural resources for our needs.however, recycling is also a great procedure of reusing the things for our own benefit. government should take consideration on this point and do whatever is good for the envirnoment .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views regarding recycling and consumption, and presents a clear position throughout the essay. The student states that recycling alone is not enough and that reducing consumption is also necessary. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on employment generated by recycling industries is slightly underdeveloped and shifts focus away from the core environmental debate. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments would benefit from deeper extension and more specific real-world examples rather than general statements about packaged products and natural resources. Overall, the task response demonstrates a competent understanding of the prompt, earning a band score of 6.0 based on the official descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different viewpoints, with the first body paragraph discussing consumption and the second focusing on recycling. However, the logical progression is occasionally hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices. For example, the transition 'On the other hand, Recyling is a beneficial process...' lacks smooth integration with the preceding paragraph, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'This procedureundergo at the the industrial level'. Furthermore, cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the overall flow between sentences feels slightly disjointed in places, placing this response firmly in the band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'significantly role' (intended as significant role), 'natural resources', and 'employment opportunities'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors throughout the text, including repeated misspellings of 'envirnoment' and 'envinoment' instead of environment, as well as 'Recyling'. Word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate, as seen in phrases like 'avoid the buying of packaged products' instead of avoiding the purchase of packaged goods, and 'effect' used instead of the verb 'affect'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, resulting in a score of 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting complex forms such as conditional structures ('if more industries are developed...') and relative clauses. However, there is a lack of control over grammatical accuracy, with frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization ('Recyling', 'however'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing such as 'The procedureundergo at the the industrial level'. Subject-verb agreement issues also appear, for example, 'recycling play' instead of plays, and 'should be rely' instead of should rely. While communication is generally maintained and the reader can follow the main points, the accumulation of grammatical errors restricts the score to a 5.5.
