IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Concern for the environment is growing and more and more people are choosing to recycle. But some people suggest that recycling is not enough. They believe we need to consume less.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think environment problems are increase and people want to do more recycling, while other believe that only recycling is not enough. We should consume less items. But i think, people should do less consume and recycling more waste. I will discuss both views and give my clear opinion in the further paragraphs.

On the one hand, people think problems happen for environment because they use lots of plastic made items, which may damage the environment. They purchase many products, which may not recycle. Sometimes, they try to recycle it. But, some itmes are not fully recycled. Because it made with such matirals like, plastic. For example, people purchase lots of products which made from plastic. After they try to recycle it at their home. But, this items not fully recycle. It lefts their some parts and create pollution.

On the other hand, people says recycling is not enough to protect the environment and we need to purchase less products. Which may less require for us. So, it is not requires to recycle more products. As a result, environment may be less affect from large number of items. For instance, some poeple purchase extra items, when they go for shopping. Some itmes not require but they purchase in advance. After that, items expire date left and they throw in dustbin. So, waste itmes create pollution.

In my opinion, people should purchase items, which are only neccecary for them. Also, they take care of items are fully recycle or not. So, we can control pollution from useless items.

In conclusion, some people belive pollution more increase and people try to do more recycling. But some people think recycling process only not enough for controlling pollution. We should consume less unneccecary itmes. But i think, we should care of this both statements.
