Student answer (Band 4.5)
Nowadys many people worry about our environement because of the pollution so some of them suggest to start recycling but others think that its not enghout and we have to rationalization our consume .
In my opinion i support the idea of minimalize our consuming beacuse everything started from us .
One major reason is that the environment issues become more than anytime we should start use less toxic materials . For instance everyday when we do shopping we used plastics bags and we put it everywhere , also when we are outside we buy plastic bottle of water and we throw wherever .
As a result it effect negatively on the ecosystem and the nature sources as the quality of water and the air we breath .
Another important factor no one can deny that recycling is very issential for the nature this mean that we can save the environement from disaster and earth problem for example we must put different rubbish bin for different matireals . Therfore to classify each type and facilate the recycling .
in conclusion although the recycling is a good idea to keep the environment has some disadvantages , i belive that consuming less is more benefical

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response addresses both views regarding recycling versus consuming less, and the candidate provides a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack full development. Furthermore, the response suffers from a significant length penalty, as it contains only 203 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Because of the under-length nature of the essay and the limited extension of supporting examples, the task response is constrained to a lower band level. While the prompt's core requirements are acknowledged, the brevity prevents a more thorough exploration of the arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, though the paragraphing is somewhat rudimentary. Logical progression is occasionally disrupted by confusing transitions and sentence structures, such as starting sentences abruptly with 'As a result it effect negatively'. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Therfore to classify each type and facilate the recycling'. Referencing is also imprecise at times, making the overall flow somewhat disjointed and harder to follow for the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling errors ('Nowadys', 'environement', 'enghout', 'minimalize', 'beacuse', 'issential', 'matireals', 'Therfore', 'facilate', 'benefical'). The writer attempts some less common terms like 'ecosystem', 'rationalization', and 'toxic materials', but these are often used inaccurately in terms of word form or collocation (e.g., 'rationalization our consume'). The lexical range is limited and frequently strains the reader's understanding due to the accumulation of spelling and word-choice mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at more complex structures frequently result in serious errors, run-on sentences, and fragmented phrasing (e.g., 'Another important factor no one can deny that recycling is very issential for the nature this mean that we can save the environement...'). There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and sentence boundaries. These grammatical inaccuracies impede communication in several places, requiring the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning.
