IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Concern for the environment is growing and more and more people are choosing to recycle. But some people suggest that recycling is not enough. They believe we need to consume less.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Concern for the surrounding among individuals is increasing and a lot of people are choosing to recycle. But some of the public individuals are thinking that recycling might not be enough. They believe we need to eat less. I'm of the opinion that the best thing we can do is to recycle.

There are lot of reasons to be concerned about the environment, if waste are not recycled we stand the chance of experiencing environmental damages like flooding, air pollution, and waste of resources.

Recycling is more sustainable, when people consume food, water, or anything in particular all you need to do is dispose at the right place and the proper bodies comes to take them and recycle. The reason why people settle for recycling it's because it reduces air pollution, instead of burning your waste, you can easily recycle them, secondly you can easily convert things like glass or cloth into something useful at your home. people who also choose to recycle gain some money from it. Example in Germany when you submit some plastic bottles you are been paid for it , .

But then some people still thinks that recycling can't solve environmental problem and we need to consume less, but then you can't control the things people buy, or what people eat, eating less also doesn't guarantee that there will be less environmental issues, plus we can't also consume all of the things that can be recycled e.g clothes, glasses, paper, metals this things have to go through the normal recycling process.

In conclusion, I think more people should adapt the recycling solution, as it can serve as a form of income and also help to reduce environmental pollution.
