Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this rapidly evolving world, the issue of recyclying has become a matter of considerable debate, involving its impact on individual and society. While some people firmly believe that recycling is great promting decison, others contend that consumption should be reduced, I completey agree with this view that reusing alone is mindful approach that should be implemented.

On one hand, environment concerns are pressing challenges that should be upmost priority for every contemporary life. Firstly, acceleration of human activities serve as a major contributer, consuming in low amount is not a practcal solution because on the basis of need it should not be excercised in every houshold of modern world. Moreover, taking responsibilty is also a difficult situation, For instance, if somebody is affluent how will they follow this approach by just taking low amount of food. Its just under privledge who can manange.

On the other hand, decreasing the consumption will likely to be less economic growth, and tax become significant. Although, there are certain positive aspect such as lower expend will result in lower formation of food items, fuel and grocery, fundamentally decresing the ratio of recycling the items. For example, if there be just one item allowed to take from the each section of the grocery that is relatively lessen the amount of products that should be renew.

To recapitulate, I firmly maintain the stance that recycling is an essential component, because of its practical outcome that we have recieved so far. While consumption will lead to the situation of hunger in a society. Consequently, embracing this perspective would not only benefit the individual but also contribute to long term development and overall well being of the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding recycling and consuming less, and clearly states the writer's opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing due to expression issues. For instance, the discussion around affluence and under-privileged individuals is unclear in its connection to consumption. The student attempts to discuss both views, but the reasoning lacks sufficient depth and clarity, resulting in a somewhat confused argument. While a clear position is presented, the lack of well-developed examples and supporting arguments places this response in Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, providing a basic structure. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing statements. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as "On one hand" followed by arguments that do not clearly contrast, and the misuse of transition words like "Moreover" and "Consequently". Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the flow of the writer's thoughts. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak. These issues align closely with the characteristics of a Band 5.0 performance.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as "recyclying", "promting", "decison", "completey", "contributer", "practcal", and "under privledge". While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items (e.g., "contemporary", "affluent"), inaccurate collocations and word forms impede smooth reading and occasionally obscure meaning. The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, but frequent errors place it firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over complex structures is weak, leading to frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Examples include run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'While some people firmly believe that recycling is great promting decison, others contend that consumption should be reduced, I completey agree...' Subject-verb agreement and article usage are also problematic throughout the text. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect the descriptor for Band 5.0.
