Student answer (Band 5.0)
People hold differing views that whether recycling is better way to save environment or others deem that less consumption is needed as recycling is not enough sufficient.According to my prespective recycling of products is more efficient way to conserve biodiversity of world. Therefore, this essay will discuss both view points.
One of the most significant benefit of recycling is that their will be very less requirement for making new bottles or other packing materials as the recycled ones can be used again and again rather than more production packing material.Secondly, environment will remain safe as no waste plastic is throne away because it goes for recycling process so that, again new product can pack in it for selling.
Paradoxically, others think that recycling alone is not capable to deal with this issue as individuals need to reduce their consumption to conserve environment from this plastic waste as if people consume less packed food or other products it helps in reduction of plastic waste from this world. Moreover it will aslo save the cost of recycling which can be used in production other things.
To reiterate, both ideas are contributing to conserve the environment of this world as recycling can help by same waste material in use again than using new one and will help to reduce the quantity of waste material by less consumption.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding recycling and consuming less, and presents a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deep development, relying on generalized statements rather than substantive examples. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the essay contains only 218 words against the required minimum of 250 words. This under-length shortfall directly impacts the level of task completion and prevents the response from reaching a higher band score. To improve, the student should expand upon their arguments with concrete examples and ensure they meet the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is organized into four paragraphs, providing a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical cohesive devices and awkward transitions, such as 'Paradoxically' and 'To reiterate'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, for instance in phrases like 'same waste material in use again'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical flow requires better logical connectors and clearer referencing to guide the reader smoothly through the arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. The student attempts some less common words, such as 'conserve biodiversity' and 'Paradoxically', but suffers from frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as 'not enough sufficient', 'throne away' (thrown away), and 'production other things'. Spelling and morphological inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a band 5.5. Utilizing a wider range of precise lexical items would enhance the overall quality.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('save environment'), incorrect prepositions ('better way to save'), subject-verb agreement issues ('their will be'), and awkward clause constructions. While the meaning remains mostly clear despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate complex structures prevents the writing from achieving a band 6.0. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical slips will yield immediate improvements.
