Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response only minimally addresses the prompt, failing to adequately discuss both views or provide a fully formed personal opinion. Furthermore, the length requirement of 250 words is not met, as the response contains only 124 words, stopping abruptly in the middle of a sentence. Ideas such as the benefits of recycling or the need to minimize consumption are stated simply without proper extension or support. To reach a higher level, the writer must ensure the text meets the minimum word count, fully develop arguments for both sides of the debate, and present a clear, sustained position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged in a fully coherent manner. Although the writer attempts an introductory paragraph and starts a main body paragraph, the logical progression breaks down quickly, and the essay remains incomplete. Paragraphing is introduced, but the abrupt ending prevents a complete structure. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as using 'To explain it detail' instead of standard transitional phrases. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments. Improving overall structure and ensuring a logical sequence of ideas from introduction to conclusion is necessary for progress.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, reflecting a limited range suitable for this level. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'envrionment' instead of environment, 'consumes' used as a noun incorrectly, and 'polltuion' instead of pollution. Phrases like 'fulfillment desire' and 'price of goods may cheaps' demonstrate awkward collocations and grammatical form errors that stem from lexical strain. To improve, the writer needs to expand their range of vocabulary, pay closer attention to word forms, and practice correct spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammar demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors. Attempts at more complex constructions are often faulty, as seen in phrases like 'while the quantity of wastes increase, public use to burn it which effect in air, result pollution'. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions, such as 'The growing envrionment is main issues' and 'support to recycling'. These frequent errors place a strain on the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of sentence structures with better control over punctuation and grammatical accuracy.
