Overall4.5

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your response responds to the task only minimally. While you briefly touch upon both views regarding recycling and consuming less, your ideas are severely underdeveloped, and your own opinion is stated very simply without proper elaboration. Additionally, your response falls significantly short of the required minimum word count of 250 words, as it contains only 136 words. To reach a higher band, you must fully discuss both perspectives with extended reasoning, provide relevant examples, clearly maintain your position throughout, and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of your ideas lacks clear overall progression. You attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'on the other hand', but you misuse this phrase repeatedly by placing it at the beginning of consecutive paragraphs where contrasting ideas are not actually being presented. Furthermore, paragraphing is not used effectively; your sentences are grouped poorly, making the overall arrangement difficult to follow. To improve, you need to structure your writing into clear, logical paragraphs with accurate cohesive devices that correctly signal the relationship between your arguments.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, utilizing everyday words such as 'things', 'good', and 'make'. There are also frequent spelling and word form errors throughout your text, including 'enviornmental', 'issue', 'redue', 'consume lesss', 'ne', 'cuuting', 'tress', and 'beleives'. These errors and the limited range of lexical items strain the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your vocabulary range, incorporate less common academic terms, and improve your spelling accuracy and word choices.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Your grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and flawed sentence structures. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation, such as missing capitalization and periods at the beginning and end of sentences (e.g., 'Nowadays we are facing many enviornmental issue.some peoples thinks...'). Complex sentences are rarely attempted, and when structures are combined, they contain frequent errors that can distort meaning. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex sentence structures while improving your control over basic grammatical rules and punctuation.
