Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both recycling and consuming less, though the development remains very limited. While the writer presents a position that recycling is preferable to consuming less ('There is no need to consume less. Teach Individual only how to recycle things'), the ideas are largely under-developed and lack sufficient explanation or support. For instance, the argument regarding the reuse of cans and bottles by local shops is introduced but not fully connected to the main debate in a clear, cohesive manner. The response touches upon the main parts of the task, but the arguments are repetitive and drift into general statements about village hygiene rather than focusing strictly on the core prompt of consumption versus recycling.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the text lacks a clear overall progression, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments. Although the writer attempts to use transition phrases such as 'To begin with' and 'Moving towards', these cohesive devices are used inaccurately and do not establish logical relationships between ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed, with abrupt shifts from recycling packaging to village health issues and back to consumption. Referencing is frequently unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'that anyone can not use this so it saves many lifes', which obscures the logical connections between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, showing a limited range that is only minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies heavily on simple words and makes noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical and mechanical slips include 'Individual' instead of individuals, 'recyling' and 'recylce', 'habbit' for habit, 'unuse' for unused, and 'addorable' instead of affordable or appropriate. These errors restrict the precision of the response and prevent the demonstration of a more varied or flexible lexicon, keeping the lexical standard constrained.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are heavily flawed. Errors are frequent throughout the text, involving verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples of recurrent errors include 'as environment is growing most Individual are choose a path', 'if people frequently throw garbage in where they live as it may causes', 'people in villages are dont know', and 'because they has a habbit'. These persistent inaccuracies frequently strain the reader and obscure the intended meaning, reflecting basic control over simple sentence patterns.
