Student answer (Band 5.0)
Recycling are more popular than the consume less but some people think that consume less are more important than the recycling process. According to my opinion recycling are more essential than the other process because we fulfill the basic needs of humans so that's why it is more important.
Secondly, recycling is necassy because of our enviromental conditions. Recycling can reduce the pollution and it fulfill the needs of society. Moreover, recyling are necassery in every field of life. In addition to this, the things that are not biodegrade are recycled and reduce the land pollution. It saves the natural resources of enviroment like many metals, coal, gas etc. If we recycle the plastic bottles it is beneficial for us becuase it asves our money, time, and recources.
Thirdly, some people think recycling are not enough we need to consume less. It is a very good thing but due to this we cannot complete the essential needs of humans. Moreover, recycling are not enough we use cloth bags instead of plastic or disposible bags. Some times the recycling process is dangerous for our health because the smoke and water release from industeries are very dangerious and it causes many respiratory and lungs problems.
Lastly, both are important to stable the enviroment only recycling cannot do this. Recycling are not good for our land because it release various chemicals that effect our fruits and vegetables. According to my point of view people should reduce recycling and consume less things to maintain the enviroment. And it is important to protect the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the prompt minimally, touching upon both views regarding recycling and consumption, but the position is not always clear or consistent, especially with contradictory statements like suggesting people should 'reduce recycling'. The ideas presented are limited and frequently under-developed, relying on repetitive assertions rather than deep elaboration or clear examples. For instance, the discussion on consumption is brief and tied up with recycling arguments rather than being fully explored on its own. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to present a well-developed position with fully extended ideas, clearer reasoning, and distinct support for each viewpoint rather than blending them into confusing claims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation in the essay, as the writer attempts to use paragraph breaks and transition words such as 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'Lastly' to structure the response. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow is frequently disrupted by repetitive points and abrupt shifts in logic. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or overused, and referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the writer's line of thought. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one, using cohesive links more naturally and maintaining a clear, unified topic per paragraph instead of jumping back and forth between concepts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling errors like 'necassy', 'enviromental', 'recyling', 'disopible', 'industeries', and 'dangerious', as well as awkward collocations such as 'stable the enviroment'. The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with words like 'important', 'recycling', and 'consume' being reused excessively. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, use less common vocabulary with greater precision, and eliminate basic spelling and word-formation errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Recycling are', 'consume less are', 'things that are not biodegrade'), incorrect pluralisation, and missing or misused articles. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently cause difficulty for the reader in parsing the intended meaning. To progress, the writer needs to improve basic sentence construction, ensure proper agreement between subjects and verbs, and master complex sentence patterns with fewer errors.
