Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are differing views about whether environmental concern should be solved by recycling of the resources or must reduced the consumption of the resources. While, recycling can help decompose waste material and reuse them. Moreover, decreasing the consumptionn of resources will help in saving it for future generation. My stance on both the views with opinion is further discussed below.
The former view, concern regarding the environmental conservation of the natural resources will help in decomposing process. Through the process of recycling one can use the waste of the natural resource and also preserve it with process of reuse and recycle, it will help to attain less waste production ultimately leading to decrease in soil and land pollution. For instance, the recycling of many natural resources will help in minimizing the volume of garbage on landfill sites benefitting environment.
The later view, represents that concern raising with environment with less consumption will benefit more because recycling is not enough. Reducing the use of natural resources will benefit future generation. As the population is growing worldwide, their has been increase demand of natural resources reducing the use of it help in conservation of the same and will further aid in the betterment of the upcoming generation. for instance, less consumption of natural resources will help save electricity and water. It may even aid in reduction of air pollution, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
In conclusion, both views have their own merits that will ultimately benefit the future generation. I believe, that recycling is not enough, reducing the consumption of natural resources will help in establishing more eco-friendly environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on recycling versus reducing consumption and provides a clear opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, while the body paragraphs attempt to explain the merits of both recycling and reducing consumption—such as mentioning landfill reduction and resource conservation for future generations—some ideas remain somewhat repetitive and under-developed, lacking deeper elaboration or fully convincing examples. This places the response at this level, as it addresses the prompt adequately but does not fully extend all its main points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs discussing each view, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, such as 'The former view' and 'The later view', though referencing and transitions can occasionally feel a bit mechanical or formulaic. For example, the sentence frames in the body paragraphs make the progression somewhat rigid rather than completely smooth, which is characteristic of this level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items related to the environment, such as 'environmental conservation', 'greenhouse gas emissions', and 'eco-friendly environment'. However, there are notable word choice, word form, and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'must reduced' instead of 'must reduce', 'consumptionn' with a double letter, and 'The later view' instead of 'The latter view'. These errors are noticeable but do not seriously impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the argument without major difficulty.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'While, recycling can help' (fragmented clause), 'help in saving it' (pronoun reference issues), and 'their has been increase demand'. Punctuation and prepositional patterns also show occasional slips, such as missing capitals at the start of sentences or faulty subordinate clauses. Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication, and the basic meaning of the sentences remains understandable.
