Student answer (Band 5.5)
While concern towards environment is growing, majority of people are participating in recycling. Although waste processing is an effective measure, some people argue that they need to consume less along with recycling process. I firmly believe that waste processing and preserving natural sources are required for environmental well-being.
To begin with, as people are more concerned towards environmental conditions, they believe that waste processing can reduce these concern. Majority of people are actively involved in practicing recycling and frequently using eco-friendly products. As a result, avoiding usage of products which are harmful to nature can being about visible changes in the environment. For instance, restriction of plastic usage and replacing with eco-friendly packages lead to reduce the soil erosion in the areas.Secondly, this approach also introducted to reduce to prevent contamination of air. as a consequences of safely practicing throwing of garbage or waste in separate bins through which effective transformation of those into manageable forms can be done.
In addition to above, the extiction of natural resources can also be hazardous to the biosphere in the environment. people believe that they need to consume less to prevent famine which can be threatening in upcoming generations. So, in order to ensure the effective outcomes people suggests that both the recycling and preservation of natural resources should be combined equally. For example, the habitat loss can cause imbalance in the food chain ultimately affecting biosphere of the environment. As a result conservations of local resources can help bring changes in the surroundings.
In conclusion, effective consideration in reserving local resources and recycling can both play equal role in improving environmental conditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both recycling and consuming less, while presenting a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the arguments surrounding recycling are reasonably well introduced, the second view regarding consuming less is less thoroughly explored and relies on slightly vague generalisations rather than fully extended reasoning. For example, the mention of preventing famine and habitat loss is introduced quickly without being robustly connected back to the core concept of consumption reduction. To reach a higher level, the ideas need to be more fully expanded, providing deeper explanation and more cohesive real-world examples to support every main argument presented.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct points, such as moving from recycling benefits to the need for conserving natural resources. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'To begin with' and 'In addition to above' are used somewhat rigidly, and referencing between sentences occasionally becomes unclear, such as the sudden shift in the second paragraph involving 'safe practicing throwing of garbage'. Furthermore, logical progression from one sentence to the next can feel slightly disjointed. To improve, you should employ a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices organically and ensure smoother transitions between your supporting ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the general meaning of the arguments. You attempt some less common items such as 'eco-friendly', 'biosphere', and 'extiction', but these are accompanied by noticeable word-choice inaccuracies and spelling errors, such as 'extiction' instead of extinction, and 'introducted' instead of introduced. Collocations are occasionally unnatural, such as 'safe practicing throwing of garbage'. Communication is not heavily impeded, but the lexical control remains somewhat limited. To achieve a higher score, focus on refining word choice, ensuring precise academic collocations, and paying closer attention to correct word forms and spelling throughout your essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, articles, and prepositions that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include missing articles ('concern towards environment'), incorrect prepositions ('concern towards', 'reducing the soil erosion in the areas'), and awkward verb constructions ('can being about visible changes', 'introducted to reduce to prevent'). While these errors rarely completely obscure your message, they are frequent enough to hold the score back at this level. To progress, you need to exercise better control over complex sentence patterns, ensure accurate verb tense usage, and carefully check basic grammatical agreements and article placement.
