Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is an ongoing concern about the growth of the environment where, most of the people are choosing recycling. However, most of the people believes that recycling is not enough we need to consume less portion. Before giving my opinion; this essay will discuss both perspectives. From my point of view i would say recyling is a better as compared to consumption of less portion.

One major factor, is that recycling has significant benifits as compared to less consumption. In India more than 150 millions of households use plastic per month. Wether for daily use or packing food for takeaway orders. most of the poeple throws this plastic on the road side or wherever they like instead of this i believe that recyling option can be more benificial here as compared to less consumtion. As an example there are so many stores or street food areas where most of the people uses plastic bags. They should keep notes in their shops to pay more attention of their customers towards recyling . Notes like '' Instead of throwing plastic use recycle beans'' so people can attract towards recycling.

On the other hand, most of the people believe that recyling is not enough we need to consume less portion of food. I am partly agreed with this because no wants to consume less portion of food for them self. People across worldwide consume food according to them like how much portion they want. Nevertheless, it does not mean people should not purchase food from out-side or something like that; they just need to develope ideas like recyling or reuse or more like that which cannot effect envoirnment.

To conclude, most of the people believe that recycling is better option yet, most of the people believe that recyling is not enough; we need to use less portion of platsic or trends which effects the growth of the environment. From my perspective i would say I am totally agreed with the recyling option.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a position, particularly in the introduction and conclusion, where you favour recycling. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The recycling paragraph gives a relevant example about plastic use in India and shop notices, but the claim about household use is unclear and the example does not explain how recycling would reduce environmental harm. The opposing view is less fully addressed: you interpret “consume less” mainly as eating smaller portions, although the prompt concerns consumption more broadly, and then shift to recycling and reuse. This leaves the central argument about reducing consumption under-explained. Develop both sides with clear reasons and examples, and maintain a precise, consistent position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the discussion moves from plastic use to roadside litter and then to shop notices, without explaining the link between the proposed action and its likely effect. The second body paragraph also shifts from food portions to purchasing food and then recycling. Repeated phrases such as “most of the people believe” make the writing feel repetitive. Organise each paragraph around one main claim and use clearer referencing and links between supporting points.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “plastic bags,” “environment,” and “reuse,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or repetitive choices make meaning less clear. Phrases such as “growth of the environment,” “consume less portion,” and “recycling beans” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “recycling bins” would be clearer. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “benifits,” “Wether,” “recyling,” and “envoirnment,” which reduce precision. Build a reliable set of environmental terms and check spelling, word forms, and collocations. Avoid repeating “most of the people” when more precise alternatives are available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “However” and a conditional-style suggestion about what shops should do. Nevertheless, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “most of the people believes” has subject–verb disagreement, while “most of the poeple throws this plastic” repeats that problem. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: “recycling is not enough we need to consume less portion” needs clearer separation, and the opening sentence places an unnecessary comma after “where.” Articles, plurals, and sentence construction also need attention. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete ideas with full stops or appropriate conjunctions.
