Student answer (Band 4.5)
Environment is growing and most of the people choose recycling but some people believes that recycling is not enough and deeply conscious about consume less. Both views are permissible. But I think recycling alongside consume less is more important.
Recycling is major concern of environment due to fact that uses of plastics.Less recycling of plastics create great impact on environment. In town areas create flood when rains because the whole canal are jammed by plastics . So when recycling are markable then reduce the wastage of plastics which are impactable for environment.
subsequently recycling with less consume of plastic play greater rule for the environment. When people use less plastics or polythene then wastage also reduce which greatly impact on Climate and environment also.So my opinion is these views.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both recycling and reducing consumption, and your position is briefly stated: “recycling alongside consume less is more important.” The example of plastic blocking canals and contributing to flooding is relevant and gives one reason for recycling. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the view that people should consume less is not explained as a distinct argument, and the benefits of recycling are asserted rather than developed with clear supporting detail. The conclusion, “these views,” does not clearly restate your opinion. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough development to discuss both views fully. Explain each position in a separate, developed paragraph and support it with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph gives your opinion, followed by discussion of recycling and then a paragraph about consuming less. Connectors such as “But” and “subsequently” show an effort to guide the reader. However, progression is limited because the second and third paragraphs repeat the link between plastic use and environmental harm rather than developing separate points. Some connections are unclear, particularly “So when recycling are markable then reduce the wastage” and the final “So my opinion is these views.” Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within it need clearer sequencing. Use topic sentences to distinguish the two views, then link each reason to an explanation or example and finish with a clear concluding sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “plastics,” “wastage,” “flood,” and “environment,” so the reader can identify the subject of your response. There is also an attempt to use more formal phrasing, such as “major concern” and “great impact.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “deeply conscious about consume less,” “markable,” “impactable,” and “play greater rule.” Repetition of “environment” and “plastics” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for consumption and environmental effects, and check how words combine in English. For example, use “reduce plastic consumption” and “have a significant effect” rather than the less natural phrases in the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both short statements and longer cause-and-effect sentences, for example, “Less recycling of plastics create great impact on environment” and “when people use less plastics … then wastage also reduce.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range of sentence structures remains limited, and errors in basic grammar occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “some people believes” and “wastage … reduce,” missing or incorrect articles in “major concern of environment,” and the incomplete construction “In town areas create flood.” Plural forms and punctuation also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
